Downloading
Windows 10 update has become a nightmare for several Indian users. People are facing problem with downloading the update which is a huge file of 2.75 GB for windows 7 free upgrade.
Windows 10 is free
Windows 10 update is free for genuine Windows7 and 8.1 users, those machines are eligible for an automatic free upgrade. In India only 47% are using genuine windows and most of them think that the free giveaway from Microsoft is a trick and they will be charged on a monthly basis after some period. Of course, Microsoft never said anything about
windows 10 subscription, it will be free forever for that particular unit.
Costly Download
For a BSNL home connection it will cost Rupees 1950 for the full download. Missed attempts extra. A wireless connection will be more costlier option for for the users. It will be very effective if the download can be performed in parts as user can download some parts in end of a month and rest on the next month. More safer option is to use a unlimited broadband connection.
Power Cuts
65% of the population of India do not get uninterrupted electric supply that means they face frequent power cuts. There is also a huge gap between demand and supply of electricity. Is it possible to download the huge file at one go ? Simply, not possible for 65% users.
Internet speed
India has the slowest internet connection speed.
In this speed, a large file for the Windows 10 can not be downloaded in less than two days continuous uninterrupted updating.
Slow Download server
India has one of the largest internet users bases globally with 254 M users but only 75.73 M users have broadband connection. Microsoft is thinking that all users in India has more than 10 Mbps connection speed , so users can download in a lightning speed from slow servers of Microsoft.
Interrupted connection
In India,, internet connection breaks even for no reason. I there are reasons, that are poor machinery, local faults, weak signal etc. Uninterrupted internet connection for two days is still a dream in India.
A single file for Windows 10 update
Users are bound to download a big file at one go. Microsoft should have split the file into parts. Just think with such circumstances mentioned above an Indian user managed to download 75% and the connection stops. He has to start over again from 0% with all the cost and effort wasted. A bad thinking by Microsoft.
